Scoreboard

Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, hosted approximately 200 swimmers from 17 countries. Located in the southeast of Brazil, the United Nations' population crisis committee recognizes Belo Horizonte as a "Model City in the Environmental Field" and as the city with the highest quality of life in Latin America.

The competition took place in the Aquatic Park Tennis Club I of Minas, which has more than 70,000 members. The park's aquatic complex has five pools, two of them Olympic size. The racing pool can accommodate 2000 spectators and 300 athletes.

Minas Tennis Club purchased CTS equipment through CTS's Brazilian distributor, Pro Swim of Sao Paulo, in preparation for the event, including:

  • A large (approximately 3 meter by 5 meter) display board, and
  • A complete 10-lane timing system comprising FINA-sized touchpads, relay judging platforms with Speedlights, a timing console, and a Championship start system. The ChampStart also drove an underwater speaker, which was used to clear the pool after warm-ups, and available if needed for recall.

Minas has been a customer of Colorado Time Systems since 1991.
